Welcome to the Womenade Of Houston web site!
When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. That advice was the seed that grew to become Womenade.
Amy Kossoff, a doctor in Washington DC, conceived the idea from her desire to make a difference in the world on a very personal
level. She gathered a group of friends, who invited more friends, to share a potluck dinner and contribute the cost of an
evening out to the charity. They raised $3000. Womenade was born.
This grassroots movement has spread
throughout the United States. Laura Thomas, inspired by an article about Womenade, founded Womenade of Houston, a recognized
Texas non-profit corporation.
